Game Engine/Language: Unreal Engine 5.1 / Blueprint

Role: Lead Game Designer, Mechanics Designer, Level Designer, UI/UX Designer

Duration of Work: 8 Weeks

End Of Project: 9th May 2026

Made for my “Senior Collaborative” Module, Cursor.zip is a verticle slice of a 3d speedrunning platformer game made by a group called Mach 26.

I was a lead designer on the team who was in charge of every major design decision. I delegated tasks to my other designers as well as doing many tasks myself such as design documentation, level building, and creating forms for feedback.

From this project, I learned better how the inner workings of a small scale team makes a game. I improved my skills in communication, talking to the other leads and quality checking the work of others.

Below is the itch page for the game:

I was in charge of maintaining and updating the design document, I looked over all of and made most of the pages in the document below:

About Liam Burns

I am a Computer Games Design graduate who studied at the University of Staffordshire. Mechanics and Technical Design are my favourite aspects of game design but I am able to do any general design work. I enjoy working in a team to refine and condense ideas to help make a better product.
